|
These titles were recorded by Mary Karoley on metal based
acetates using a 16 mm recorder. On "I'm So Glad I'm Brownskin"
Bunk is playing over a record by Sippie Wallace accompanied by Sidney Bechet,
Clarence Williams and Buddy Christian, recorded in NYC 1924-12-02 (mx
73014-B, OK8197). John Reid recorded Sidney Bechet's "Message to
Bunk" in reply to Bunk's "Message to Sidney" and also recorded
Bechet playing the soprano sax over the "Weary Blues" above. These
recordings were issued on American Music AMCD-44. |
